font finds: berimbau

Another adorable font. I've been coming across great sans serif's lately. Some with a similar lightness and feel. I love the hint of girliness in this one. Find it here.

February cake: cookie dough truffles!

What could possibly be more amazing? Cookie dough dipped in chocolate! Whoa. With the topping of your choosing? Here's the recipe. So simple and if you are one to worry about the raw egg, don't — the recipe is gluten, dairy and egg free! Brilliant!!! Make them and enjoy, then make more and send them to me. wink, wink.

wedding board: destination fiesta

I just heard that our adorable cousin who was planning a wedding might be thinking of a destination wedding to mexico at a fancy resort! Whoa! I (surprisingly) don't have many resort themed images from my inspiration files, so today I borrowed a few from my favourite inspiration board creator Kathryn at Snippet + Ink. I choose my top five that seemed appropriate but you could really go any direction! Look at all those sun-filled photos. I am getting warmer just looking at them. enjoy.

nail-tastic

I am falling in love with wacky nail colours. I have seen that black is the recent big hit. For me, I would like to try a minty green on my toes and mousey greige (inspired from a comfy sweater) on my fingers.

I especially love the multi french tips!

Noted.

Interesting, isn't it? My least favourite colour was traditionally orange and I always hated violet, now it's growing on me enough to be one of my favourite colours to wear. Ever since I got a pair of purple gloves as a birthday gift. I would have to say that my least favourite colour to wear would be red and least favourite to use in home decor would be brown, with the exception of wood tones, of course.

cookies + cream

It's one of those weeks full of comfort foods and milkshakes and cookies are tops on my list. Or any variation thereof! Mouthwatering photos to follow.

Ice cream and cookies... neon sparkle whoopie pies... vanilla milkshake shooters... ice cream sandwiches...

Have you seen this?

It is incredible. The canals in Amsterdam have frozen solid enough to skate and walk on. Looking at these photos is wild. See the house boats, half stuck in frozen water, and even step that go down to the boats now lead to ice paths through the city. It's actually pretty romantic.

What a beautiful city, even when it's frozen.

font finds: diamond ring

What's not to LOVE about an Asian Deco fusion? Clean structure, slight curves create a brilliant play on space. The only thing that confuses me here — the name? Diamond Ring? Perhaps it's the angles and shapes created by the negative space around the letters... Still, l think it's pretty terrific. Buy it for me here.

wedding board: afternoon at the club

Here is another little wedding board for my cousin. This one is set at a country club. Mid-afternoon, I can imagine guests putting around on the green, eating hors d'oeuvres and dancing on the lawn. Simple and laid back, with tables covered in sweet treats. Classic deep blue bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen suits. My favourite part of this board are the groomsmen ties in Liberty of London florals and the dancing under the twinkle lights in the tent.

I want to believe

Have a good weekend exploring, might just find something interesting out there.

just for grins

Thinking about a name for something lately, would you like to help me pick a good one or two out?
**Update: It's so hard to choose, but my favourite is Coco Juniper and Merle McQuoddy. But that may change. Randolph and Mortimer would be pretty funny too.**

on my mind

Been thinking about interiors bathed in white, streamlined but full of texture. Soothing colours. Relaxing, with a hint of colour. Watching the Eames Powers of Ten movie just now, have you seen it?

A bit about what inspires me:
01: light-filled and airy, a dash of glamour in the mirror. /02: greys! and the gallery style art. /03: organic pattern play, plants v. pattern. /04:mid-century streamlined desk, wood + white! /05: rows of colourful books and a curious brass reading lamp. /06: sconces sparkle like stars between framed drawings. /07: cole & sons tree wallpaper is brilliantly set off by honey coloured wood chairs. /08: large peek hole art of a landscape scene perfect for the bath. The velvet chair is pretty sexy too! /09: paired down dining, great mustard colour chairs. /10: 2-tone cabinetry, grey + white with a dash of yellow!

wedding board: golden deco

Here is another little wedding board. This one is set at the Temple for Performing Arts. This place has the classic detailing, but can be over the top, to tone it down and keep it feeling young and fresh, add modern touches like ice cream cones, paper pom poms and a felted white pillow. Classic gold and white with soft pastel accents. How about hosting an evening affair full of desserts and champagne, dancing and end the night with fireworks?

font finds: brioche

I just LOVE Jessica Hische. She is one of my all-time favourite designers. So, a while back when I saw she had debuted a new font — BRIOCHE — I was ecstatic. A dash of of flourish (it would be one of Jessica's fonts without it!), even text weight, swooping terminals, swashes galore, flirty numerals and now in italics!

design board: laundry room

Here is another little project I've got planned. I've already ordered the rug. And have plans to save by building the mirror myself. The coat rack is super thrifty from ikea. The awesome owl umbrella stand was a wedding gift! And I will paint our chest black this weekend. What a plan, I can't wait to work on it this weekend!
